UPDATE ON: At least somewhat OT, but, in order to avoid any confusion..... Coinguy1 to go solo...

coinguy1coinguy1 Posts: 13,484 ✭✭✭
After six plus wonderful years with Pinnacle Rarities, I will be leaving to
go out on my own (again). This change will take effect at the beginning of
July and the thought of it brings both considerable excitement and sadness,
at the same time.

I have had some really great jobs in this industry during the past 25 years (man,
I'm REALLY getting old!image). But, I can easily and honestly say, that my time
with Pinnacle has been the most enjoyable of all. I want to thank them publicly,
for the way they have treated me and, evenly more importantly, for the way they
treat their clients. I am sure that I will be doing plenty of business with
them as soon as I get out there on my own.

I plan to continue to post here, just like before, but did not want anyone
to mistakenly think I was doing so as a representative of Pinnacle
Rarities.

FWIW, young Mark sold me my first "real" coin (1909-s IHC) back in the early 80s......just a wet-behind-the-ears lad he was......wait a minute, so was I.. image

He also helped sell a sweet 1912 MP Lincoln I had in one of Ivy's auctions.....nice price in the day!! And yes, my dear old uncle still has that MS67+ capped bust 1/2 dime image

Good fortune on your new endeavours, and you might try seeking out some Victorian treasures along the way! Although I don't know who might be interested. image

The entire Pinnacle team are a coin customers dream. There are many other coin dealers, who could learn and prosper more, if they would attempt to reach the high standards and integrity that Pinnacle/Mark Feld exhibit on a daily basis. Good luck Mark ! Being one of the best graders out there, I have no doubts, you will do extremely well.

    Mark,

Now that you'll be away from the restrictive environs of a big company will you be offering cool coins? Say, for example, Kennedy Half Dollars?

  • Since I already had a Forum account, I have been asked to post the following:

    Dear PCGS Forum Members,

We, too, regret that Mark Feld is leaving Pinnacle Rarities, Inc. He has accurately and ethically represented our company's interests on this forum and we're sure he will continue to independently and enthusiastically participate as he develops his new venture.

All of us at Pinnacle are better coin dealers (and better people for that matter) as a result of working with Mark. Although we will not have a formal relationship, it is our intention and hope that we will have many future dealings together and he has our very best wishes for continued success.

That certainly says a lot about the character of both parties, doesn't it?

    Mark,

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back and may the sun shine warm upon your face.

Many blessings on your endeavors. You have given the most useful advice on these forums and will be an asset to the numismatic community wherever these crossroads may lead you to.

    Good Luck,
    Bk.

    Congratulations and best of luck.

If you set up your dealership with the same standards of customer service that you and all the Pinnacle team demonstrated, I am sure you will do well indeed.

I'm having trouble picking Mark out of that Mt. Rushmore thingy. To be completely accurate, shouldn't Mark's sculpture have a phone connected to at least one ear?image

Congratulations Mr. Feld. As I've always said (well maybe not alwaysimage) you are a great asset to the Numismatic community. I won't say good luck because as you know it takes hard work to be self employed, and perhaps a bit of luck to succeed. Which I've seen you at the shows so I know you're not afraid of hard work.

Now having said that my concern is whether I'll be able to recognize you at any shows in the future if you indeed are going to set up at shows. My main concern is not that you will be slopping your food all over your cases, but will you be slicking your hair back, wearing gold chains, and pinky rings.image
