It's crusty all right!
I just got this one today from a local coin dealer.
Geez, I love crusty Buffalos! I love the design, I love the way they tone... Heck, I might just collect them all!
Oh yeah, check out the die crack that runs through the B in LIBERTY, is it big enough to be called a cud?

<< <i>Here's a closeup of the die break. It's a pretty large one, could that be called a cud? >>
Nope. Just a hefty die crack. A "cud" is a major die break where there is a free-floating piece of the die.
<< <i>Also, when a die break is this pronounced, does it affect the grade of the coin? >>
No. A true die break might be considered an error coin and can be graded through such services, while a die crack is just an interesting anomaly. Most coins from dies with bad cracks show signs of die fatigue and often also weak strikes. The latter can have a substantial effect on the the grade.
Your is a nice piece. Very pretty and a good strike for a '13-D T2.
