Hallmark was the predecessor company to PCI and was truly a wonderful grading company. PCI used the same holders as they bought the equipment and slab stock from Hallmark. Partially owned by Dave Bowers at the time.
Nice try, rlawsha, by stating all of the grades. Too bad you forgot the PQ part!
MYqqy: Never! I like saving these old slabs! There is no better thing than leaving money on the table but letting all potential future owners drool and dream about the potential of the old slabs I will someday sell.
I wonder how many of these PQ graded Hallmark slabs are left? 300? 500? 1000? Everyone that cracks theirs out only makes this one more special!
Hallmark was pretty damn good in the day. my 41 S walker in a PCGS holder that i cracked out came back same grade from them. (MS64) my big regret was that i did not have it with me when i went to SD for the ANA in 89 when i sold all my coins for gobs o money. i still have the PCGS SLAB,it is still a good number ! coulda sold that coin for about 1100.00 then ! crap today !
I received the coin. It is fabulous for a MS-63PLPQ.
The rim looks the way it does because on the obverse at 9 o clock to 3 o clock, the coin is actually off center in which the denticles no longer "meet" the edge of the coin! Also note how narrow the denticles are at 4 oclock to 8 oclock. I had suspected that when I bid on the coin but did not say so until I was able to confirm it.

Even if it is only a MS-63PL PQ!
Would you ever consider crossing it over..I...I...I mean tossing it over, to me, for a fair price?
