Toned State Quarters???
Hey folks, I don't post much (ok this makes twice) but I've came across something I couldn't find by searching or elsewhere. I'm finding, circulated, somewhat toned state quarters in my change. Two last week - should they be tone / tarnishing so soon? Last week's were both yellow-ish on the obverse. Found one that had a bit of light green to it. I tried taking pics to no avail. I can't imagine someone would do anything artificle to a coin and recirc it. Any ideas???? I'm working under the assumption I'm not sitting on anything special, just suprised to come by them.
Cheers!

......funny thing that this is the only one in book that has toned (since only 2002) - I had them with the design side OUT. Hadn't opened book in awhile and ZOWWIE - this one just stood up and said HELLO! The bottom and sides blue and lavendar and the top is very golden. (book made in China - can't find mfg. name.) Well the others are toning gold around edges, but this is the only one with purple and blue.
toned state quarter
Anyone got any TX quarters yet?

huh?
So, that means that sometime in the last couple of years sitting in the Mint's places, and then 1 year at my house, it started to tone a few of them.
Not all of them, but some of them.
So, yes.....they can be toned and be circulated (even though these are UNC, I have been temtped to put a few out there).
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
