I just received feedback in German

Does anyone know what "alles bestens" means?

I'm thinking of responding "There are eels in my hovercraft."

If you type your return feedback in all caps... they'll understand.

Means 'All Good', or something similar. It's still good though! Das is Gut, nein? (und ich kann nichte Deutsche Sprechen, orde... spell for that matter!) image

Prior to leaving me the feedback, he sent me an email thanking me for the purchase (in English). I just found it to be strange to leave feedback in German to an ignorant American like me.

Not totally unexpected, i can concieve of him conversing in English, but come feedback i suppose he just decided to put it in German as a gesture of goodwill. He perhaps thought that the feedback wasn't as important, and perhaps he thought you'd know what he meant?

I used to know an Irish woman (that could speak Gaelic/Irish), and she used to do things like that, she'd talk in English but then for no apparent reason she'd converse in Gaelic. (no-one could understand)

If you can speak more than one language why not? As they say; Quieta non movere image

  • If nothing else it will make your future German buyers feel better when they see that "alles" is "bestens"

Hat er sache von ihr gekauft???

Eh, sorry, this means "did he bought anything from you".....

If yes, you could say, "gute kaufer, keine probleme" (Good buyer, no problems)

If you bought something I would say "Gute verkaufer, Alles Klar" (good seller, everything went well)

    Hope this helps,

    Dennis
