AU55 or 58. I think those are circ marks. I'm not very good at finding the rub on Liberty gold though. I just don't look at the coins often enough to learn.
It's Mint State, but there are too many marks in the field to call it anything choice.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. Gold grading has always baffled me. It is so very different than other types of coins (at least in my eyes) to grade.
Every time I think I understand how grading gold works, I see something that teaches me (yet again) how very little I know and how very much I have to learn.
