Bench Master Collectors

While the search for some of the 70's (disks and such) and 80's (81T) is hard, is there any reason why the O-Pee-Chee cards required for the set stop in 1979? I don't necessarily want to add the 80's OPC cards just to say they are there...but isn't the master set supposed to be for cards released during the playing career?
Oh, shameless plug-Looking for PSA 8, 9, 10 Bench items to complete my master set. Please contact me if you have dupes. image

  • Hi Cardfan07,

Just submit a request to BJ, and she will put any known cards of a player into the master set for that player. I takes about 3-4 weeks for the process to be completed.

On a side note, the OPC's will be a pain to find in PSA 9 or better, PSA 8's usually aren't that difficult with the exception being the 1980 OPC. Also do not buy high grade BGS/BVG OPC, they are most likely from uncut sheets and will not cross to PSA.

    Happy hunting,

hi cardfan07, please feel free to add any card that meets the bench master set registry requirements. I just asked that a 1981 opc #286
be added. and we all need psa-8,9,10`s but to currently you will need 152 of them to complete the bench master set.

i do see your ebay id alot these days. you`ve upended me a few different times on some bench cards. which is fine, its part of the game
though i think i just snuck that 73 #208 psa-8 card a couple nights ago. sniping is very hard to do with phone modem hookup.
why don`t you allow your master set to be viewed ??

    Lee,
I lose more than I win it seems! Every now and again, I get lucky. I'm not sure why I don't have my set open...I think a couple weren't changed by me to allow it. Besides, the competition is fierce...I'd hate to have all the other Bench collectors know what I'm going after! image
I've made the update, feel free to check it out in a couple of business days!

hi ryan, your set is looking really good !! everybody on the set already knows when a competitor (friend) is bidding on an item. ebay
id`s are easy to follow when you see the same ones over + over again. you will find everyone on the bench master set to be friendly
and eager to help. scott and steve are super, really first rate collectors. jeffvn has helped me greatly, another top tier collector !!
i`m quite sure you know more this hobby than me, but if i can help out you sometime, with anything, please let me know.

    Lee,
I check out others sets all the time to see what 40 and 50% looks like! The tough part of trying to put this master set together is that I'm also doing other player sets (limited budgets of course)- Clemente, Mays (Basic and master), Banks and the 1957 topps. So I buy some cards of each or like recently, hitting mainly the Bench cards. I'd really like to finish the basic Bench set since I'm a few cards away...but that 81 topps and fleer combo might take a while!
Look forward to finding more high quality cards on the 'bay with you guys!
