A new acquisition - Coin rcvd, pics added

Edited to add overkill,
I received the coin today and it appears to be an AU example. I added a couple scans of my own plus negatives:

1950 GUATEMALA 25 CENTAVOS VERY FINE CONDITION
The coin looks slightly better than 'Very Fine' to me! Hopefully it won't have any hidden problems. The seller has a super feedback history too.

I love the Guatamala bird on the reverse of their coins, South and Central American coins are under-collected, in my opinion, some are very beautiful.

    tbirde, I love that coin!
If you don't mind, I would like to show off a few pieces from Guatemala in this thread (a little later on) if you have no objections.

    That's a handsome little coin.

I'll bet it's got a nice color in hand.

Brad--I'm sure you have maybe answered this in a thread somewhere before, but I was wondering if you are putting together a full world set of coins?

By that I mean if you are putting together a set with every country represented?

  • This .720 fine silver coin is smaller than a U.S. 50c coin and features a quetzal in the national arms. Mintage that year was 81,000, the second lowest of the series. In my experience, they are undervalued and not often seen above VF grades.
Laurent, by all means, the more pics the merrier!
Clank, I seem to be accumulating a world type set, slowly, along with a few date runs along the way, of 19th century+ minors. I'll never complete my collection but I will never run out of things to collect either. No boredom here!
