This is the King Rama V 150th Birthday Commemorative 600 Baht Silver proof coin. This Silver proof coin has to be the creme' de la creme' of Thailand's Mint, the bust of the King has a beautiful matt finish at the same time it shimmers like an iridescent pearl when it catches the light.

You know, I didn't appreciate cameo coins until I got interested in the PL Canadian coins of the 60's that can come heavy cameo. Now, I really do "get it."

It's sold by the Thai Mint situated in the Royal Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. Not many dealers will have it in stock as only 2,000 coins have been minted.
Thai coins are extremely interesting to me and this applies especially to the silver and tin pieces.
Thanks.
<< <i>Awesome coin and picture... is the outer ring on the obverse something in particular, or just a very cool design? >>

I guess that it's just a cool design.
