I'm done with my old collecting aesthetics...

By the Grace of God and a great deal of hard work, I will soon be able to collect coins that I once considered far beyond my means.

Life is good right now.

We ARE watching you.

    John - Is that ethical?

I know, I know. I didn't really mean to start such a ruckus with that thread about spending 69K on a coin. image

And I definitely didn't mean to sound like I was telling someone how they should spend their money.

    Sorry folks.

    We ARE watching you.

Someone just paid Hertitage $117,000+ for one of Kurt Cobain's
    guitars.

    Wasn't you was it, John?

Coins, guitars... can't eat either of them.

John, I went through a phase were I collected coins "far beyond my means."

I didn't enjoy them any more than the coins I collect now which are within my means.

In fact, I think I enjoyed them less.

I think if I learned anything it's that you can invest your coins with as much worth for yourself as you are willing to give them.

But yes, I'm sure that sounds like mamby-pamby rationalizing from a "non-player."

    Clank: words of wisdom indeed.

As a matter of fact, one of my strong collecting interests is Notgeld, and the stuff is generally pretty cheap.

But I'm definitely looking forward to adding some patterns to my collection.

John--I have absolutely no problem with people putting out the elephant bucks for a coin---if they are educated buyers and value that coin by their own criteria.

Wait!--for that matter I don't really care if they aren't.

I stand slack-jawed looking at most things people spend their money on in this world.

It's probably good my large supply of it has been revoked.

Your new stuff wont look good next to your old stuff, so Ill send a self addressed box your way and just toss the old buff collection in there
and I will see to it that a YN gets it in the next twenty to thirty years.
