What we do (besides collect cards)

As a newbie, I've really enjoyed seeing pictures of the board members. If it wouldn't blow our anonymity TOO much (more than a picture?) I'd be interested in seeing what we all do in our other (read: daily) lives: Occupations and interests (besides card collecting).
I'm a sales rep and branch manager for air conditioning products, serving the commercial construction industry. While I'm waiting for card auctions to close, I play guitar in a '60s British Invasion tribute band.
What d'yall do?

When I'm not working, I like to spend time with my
wonderful wife and two boys.

Besides saints stuff and football sets, I collect signed baseballs, courthouse postcards and local historical items. I have also been doing genealogy for 25+ years.
All of that is trumped by trying to keep up with my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son.
Aside from collecting Nolan Ryan cards, I enjoy playing computer and video games, and as a pet project I am currently developing my own game. I also live and die in Cubby blue, and am holding out hope that Mark Prior will pitch before this year is over.

Collecting Nolan Ryan cards (68-94)
Most of the time, I just wander around the castle, drink beer, chase wenches, and wonder which dungeon I put my Canseco cards in...Hmmmmm...
My other time is spent restoring Victorian, Craftsman, and Colonial homes around the Northwest. That' why my eBay ID is...nailman22...
Love the oddball card collecting activities...

A little about myself...
I am homeless and currently unemployed (can you say that after 6 years?)... I haven't seen my 38 (or is that 83?) children in years... most of the mothers (those I can recall) have restraining orders aginst me... my other hobbies include collecting big cardboard boxes, chasing old ladies, and collecting tin cans...
When I am not dumpster diving for my next meal, I generally panhandle at bus stations or sleep in the park.
I don't have many friends due to my attire and lack of hygiene... one day I stumbled into the library and found my way to this web site while searching for homeless chat groups... didn't find any so i joined this one... it has become a great way for me to make friends as people can't pre-judge me by my less than desirable odor and appearance... oops, have to go, the head librarian is heading this way...
But on TV, I play a graphic designer married with a wonderful wife and two beautiful little boys... it is a remarkable life!
In my spare time....Cards, Comics, Computers (building tweaking playing). Avid FPS player. Designing levels for Far Cry right now.
O Wife and son also take up my time.
I'm a part-time software consultant, and I play with cards when I'm not consulting. I've had a football card collection for about 15 years, and I started selling them online about 3 years ago.
Outside of those things, I do ordinary stuff with my free time: bike, hike, work on the house, drink beer. What I love to do most is travel outside the country, and I've been trying to make at least one trip annally. Two years ago I went on two trips with Habitat for Humanity, and I'm itching to go on another one.
Here's my favorite picture of me: it's in Ethiopia with a group of street kids. It's certainly not my favorite because I look good, but it reminds me of an amazing day.

I am a program manager in a large semiconductor company. I just do whatever is asked and try to stay under the radar. I strive for middle management and I am a terrific "yes" man.
Two young children and a wife that I hide from keep things going when I am sober.
54 Red Hearts
and now 64 Stand ups
Hobbies include photography, jazz music and art. Also fishing and spending time at the gym. And girls.
I think my love of art is a key reason why old tobacco cards are my favorite.
Married, no kids yet. Other than football cards I love to play blackjack and texas hold 'em poker, and I love to build stuff (metal, wood, fiberglass, anything I can get my hands on). I like RTS and RPG video games, and my wife and I go ocean kayaking in the summer. I have about a million other hobbies but those are the ones that take most of my time and money.

I am a postal worker with 25 years +2 military.I have two wonderful boys(17 & 12),both exceptional athletes, and a beautiful daughter(competition swimmer). My wife and I have been married for 13 years and we are also foster parents and have two good kids presently. We have had approximately 30 children over the past 7 years or so.I am an avid basketball player(6'4",260) that specializes in the 3 point bank shot.(People always say that I am lucky with my first shot until I make 3 or 4 in a row and then the respect kicks in.) My biggest hobby is coaching an 11-12 year old team in our local Babe Ruth league. My teams have finished 2nd or 1st the last four years in a row and have already won the first half of our league this year. I can't really coach,I just know how to pick em.;D I enjoy fishing and live in the woods(according to my wife)during hunting season. My motto(If I shoot it,I'm eating it,snake or not)(Rattlesnake,by the way is very good eating)

In addition to cards.....
I collect antique peanut roasters (the kind street vendors used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries), hit and miss farm utility engines (these were used to grind corn, power butter churns, make electricity, etc before many farms were electrified), vintage salesman samples (these were usually smaller versions of the real thing when the real thing was too large for the salesman to carry with them on the road, they were usually fully functional and very well made by a master craftsman that worked for the company), and 19th century advertising related to my other interests.
Tried uploading some pics I have here at work of some items in my collection, but they went over the 50K limitation, , waaaaaa.

I'm a pastor in New Jersey. I collect all things Gary Carter and Dallas Cowboys. I also dabble with some other sports collections such as: Ralph Sampson (I'm from Virginia), Andre Dawson, Reggie Jackson, Paul Molitor, Roger Maris and 80's Lakers. Other than collecting I enjoy as much time as I can get with my wife and 3 1/2 year old son, read as much as possible and have recently started traveling more and more, just returned from the Philippines 2 weeks ago, going to Kenya by the end of the year and hope to hit the Philippines one more time before 2004 leaves us.
Oh yeah, I've living in the Phillly area for the last 13 years and Jim Thome is starting to turn me into a Phillies fan, I swore that it would never happen. One thing won't change, I hate those Eagles!
I have been working in real estate for a couple of years now. First as a developer and now as an agent (for Century 21) and just recently as a property manager as well. Before that I was a public accountant for 4 years.

In addition to collecting cards, I collect rock posters (mainly Phish, of course) and like playing video games and listening to music. I suppose my wife, child (20 mos.) and mortgage are at least somewhat indicative of being an adult, but for the most part, I'm basically enjoying a very prolonged adolescence. Hopefully it continues for at least another 30 years.

My only real hobby besides cards is poker. I make a couple bucks here and there. I hope to play in the World Series of Poker someday.

During the day I'm a computer technician/hardware engineer for Rave
Computer, specializing in Sun-based, rackmount systems, as well as
custom PC's.
Other than that I like to play hoops, ride the local trails on my
mountain bike (Gary Fisher Paragon), eat good food, watch a good
movie, attend as many of the local (Detroit) sporting events as I
can, and enjoy all types of music from my CD collection (rock, metal,
jazz, techno, turntablism, avant-garde, you name it). I also try to
hit a few concerts every year, too. This year, my favorite band, Rush,
is touring, and I'll probably see them about 6 times or so (this might
be their last go 'round).
Great thread & it's cool getting to know a little bit more about all
the other cardboard junkies!
edited to add: nearmint-- that's a very cool pic of you & those kids!

We spend as much time as possible at our lakefront camp in "downeast" Maine and kayak, canoe, & ride the backcountry looking for wildlife from there. I also love my classic rock music , reading , spending time on this pc, traveling to warmer climes in the winter. Photography , geneaology, and playing cards also occupy my time in varying degrees. Huge Red Sox, Bruins, Celts , Pats fan.
My collecting interests are in my signature.

I just opened an eBay drop off store on the Jersey Shore called Packrat Auctions, www.packratauctions.com. It's a store where the public can drop off items and I sell them on eBay.
