I was a bad darksider!

I went to 2 coin shows this weekend and only bought lightside coins!! Should I walk around with my head hung in shame all this week??
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Not only that, you also have to stick a large "L" on your forehead. image

Why did you do that? You should seek professional help.

  • Shame on you! I made up for your lack of good judgement, however. At the Whitford auction (MSNS show) on Saturday, I only bought darkside coins and medals........NOT ONE U.S. coin or note!

I made the mistake of buying one U.S. coin from him. It was graded G-4 in the catalog. It was not G-4 when it arrived. How can you screw up G-4?! MS-64/65 I can understand difference of opinion.......

However, the darkside stuff in his sales usually seems underappreciated. I hope you didn't bid on the stuff we bid on. imageimage

  • I bought some Canadian quarters and halves. Mostly some nice toned stuff in high grade. Also bought 4 white metal die trial splashers from the Paris Mint. Really cool stuff. I also bought a lot of 130+ coins from around the world. Got it really cheap. I pulled about 20 coins that can be retailed for more than the hammer price, so the rest were free.

I used to only buy US coins from C. Whitford auctions, but there's just too much competition. I am actually starting to like the darkside stuff more and more. I would have bought a lot more, but I missed the Friday auction.

  • Be happy you found anything at all. The only local show I've bought something from in the past few months was out-of-state in Milwaukee. Sometimes I just wanna hop in the car and go on the road to shops and shows. Unrealistic, yes, but a desire nonetheless.
