Does NGC ever give a 70* grade?

Does 70* even make sense?

(assuming that the whole star thing makes sense in the first place)

I have never seen one.And I just looked at their pop report and didn't see any. I think it would be redundant because to meet the 70 grade the coin would have to have excellent eye appeal.

Although NGC does not STAR a 70 coin, it's not for the reasons you'de think. A coin given a STAR by NGC does not signify it is the upper end of the grade (ie: MS65.9), rather the eye appeal is superior. Actually, the coin could be low end on the grading scale, for the grade, with wonderful eye appeal and receive the STAR.
