Dipped ,badly washed free of dip and then retoned NT.

You would probably have a MS-63 coin.

I agree with bear that it's been dipped and retoned. The spotting appears to come from the original toning and not from a bad rinse though. MS62 is the grade I would say it is although it looks nicer. mike image

IMHO, It looks like it may have been dipped, but quite a while ago. Still--a very nice coin. MS64, maybe 63?image

I'm simply amazed at some of the comments in this thread. I know where this coin came from, and that seller's pictures are always washed out. This coin is original in my opinion, that toning is way too deep into the rims to have occurred after only a few years.

I agree with K6AZ. The rim toning is too original to be a dipped out coin, its a solid 63 IMO.

The strike is excellent and I like the toning. I wonder how severe the hairlines are which run horizontally across Miss Liberty's face. You can barely see them in the lighting provided with the image.
I don't see a lot of contact marks, which is unusual for an Unc. Barber Half.

The odd markings on the obverse look a bit like "milk spots" I've seen on some Peace $s. I've never seen them on Barber Halves before. I can only guess they are residue of some sort. If they are not really ugly, this can be better than an MS 63. Most Barber Halves in 3 are nasty coins, INO.

It is so hard to grade a coin from such images, but I know it is always done for fun. My guess is MS64 or MS 63.

    • MS 61 or maybe 62
    • I'll call it MS-63 dipped or not I like this coin. Nice and bright with some rim toning for charactor.
