It is a blow to my pride. I really try to notice everything about the coins that pass through my hands. Photographing the coins helps me do that. Oh, well, this will spur me on to look even harder.
Here is the feedback I just received:
"STUNNING Doubled Die Reverse Quarter....what a bargain! Thanks!"

Er...uhh...I mean, I feel your pain.
Carl, your karma is now in balance.

It goes to show you can add value by being an expert in your field. Clearly I don't know my Washington Quarter varieties as well as I should. Happy Hunting everybody!

Carl you should have caught it though........

It was a 1950, but I don't know what type it is.
"Got any more, Carl?"
I'm not sure.... yet. I'll be pulling out my loupe in a few minutes and checking very closely.

I attached a picture of the file.
Cherrypicker's Third edition lists it at $40 for a MS-65, although that's a 10 year old price. I figure it is probably a $300 coin today. Pretty coin too.
The only other one I find is a '47 with very minor doubling on the 2'nd R in QUARTER and the D in DOLLAR.
It's also a 1950.

One has to suspect you've done it far more than you've had it done to you.

It could be, Russ, the beak sure looks doubled in your image. Check the tips of the arrows and the talons for notching to the southeast to be sure.

That would be cool if it was. After PCGS bodybags it and I get it back, I'll put it under the loupe.

I was happy with the feedback. If the doubling wasn't mentioned I would never have learned that I missed it. Feedback that helps me learn is valuable.
