He's not the sharpest pencil in the box, since the grade is visible in the auction image.

Interesting idea, but the bonehead left the cert # viewable in one of his pics. I went to the PCGS site and did a cert verification and here it is:

According to the PCGS Certification Database, certification number 21049881 is defined as the following:

    COIN INFORMATION
    Date, mintmark: 1916-D
    Denomination: 10C
    Variety: N/A
    Country: USA
    Grade: VG10

It is currently bid up to $1,384. Not sure if this is a good deal for a VG10 or not.

Hey, I didn't know that. Are the numbers after the PCGS coin number and period the point grade? Must be!

Yep. Unless it's a bodybag label, than it's a code.

Actually, the coin looks more closer to what I call a vg-10 than what youd see in todays slabs. Ill bet a lot of folks who dont know how to read the cert number line, will think its a fine as so many in that shape grade fine today. Decent coin, and probably a little high, but thats what thier bringing, I expect it will end over 1500.00

for those of you who dont know, the CDN april is showing strong gains in all grades of 16-d dimes!!!

    Over 1500.00 and still going?

That coin should get into a f/12 holder if resubmitted. It's actually a "meaty" example, and who knows........go to F/15?

ALL the services are funny with the key dates, so you never know.

    BigD5,

I agree with you, that coin will most likely catch a fine today at PCGS, especially the way they are grading 16-d's. And, Fine price in the April cdn is now at 1350/1500.
