vintage hockey....just the tip of the iceberg

Rumors..Rumors..Rumors

How we all hate rumors for good reason.

Anyway, if there is anyone going to the Toronto Expo,
can you please snoop around to find out if this hockey
find on mastro is just the tip of the iceberg.

I don't even want to discuss what I've heard,
because it's just rumor.

    Turbo,

I always wondered if there was an opc vault.
We all know of the topps vault and its little gems.

Well it looks like the opc vault has begun to release its product.
I've heard there is more on the way.

I can not say more, because what if I said there is
1971-72 opc vending to be released and it didn't come
true. Someone could buy it before it ever hit the auction houses.
Bill Mastro, OPC, and a buyer could strike a deal and all could
go by the wayside. So it's better to say nothing right now.

the reason I posted was to ask those who are going to the
april show in ontario to see if they could investigate.

I did not post for any other reason.

  • if "the vault" releases unopened material or uncut sheets, i doubt it will dilute the graded market much (maybe the BGS market)
  • As a collector , I hope the market becomes very diluted , more cards less price
  • exactly my thoughts randy.

    Goodriddance and Randy,

    Exactly my thoughts too.

I'm kind of jealous that 1972 topps baseball collectors can get
PSA 8's for below grading fee prices.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the day when hockey collectors
can get 1968 opc PSA 8's for 5-10 each !!!

    Robstar,

I'm only interested in hearing from people who have facts.
To only hear from people who have heard rumors from others is
not productive enough for me. The rumors I've heard are actually
useless. That's why I posted. I'd rather hear from someone
    who knows more than me.

What I have heard so far is that there is more wax and vending on its way.
I'm not even going to talk about the years yet for a few reasons.
OK, for those of you who are saying I need to hear more, then let's
just say that I could say anything I wanted, because until it becomes
    truth, it's useless.

In my opinion it's not something to even get excited about yet.
For example, look at the mastro auction now. Those bids on those
hockey lots indicate that the stuff is never going to resurface.

Unless there is an unearthing of (10) 1971-72 opc vending cases,
then we may never see the stuff.

Any more news (or rumors) on the OPC vaults?

It would be great if there are warehouses full of this material so that it becomes available and affordable to the masses.

    Randy

Email sent. Sorry for the late response, I was driving around London Ontario all afternoon looking for the old Topps/OPC factory. Where is it?, and whats the combination to the vault.image

Look forward to hearing from you.
