I got some grades from NGC, too

I got some coins back from NGC that I had dropped off for grading at the Baltimore show last month. It's interesting to note that these were submitted under NGC's world economy service, while the PCGS coins I dropped off for the regular (15-day guaranteed) service have not been graded yet. image

Here are the coins:

1. China 1 cash 1909 MS61. Much better than I expected. This one is apparently a rare variety -- it lists in Krause at $135 in XF, so I wonder what an Unc would bring:

2. E. Germany 1953A 10 pfennig MS63. From a German bank bag:

3. Ethiopia 1895EE (1903) birr XF40. Bought this from a dealer as a VF:

4. French Indochina 1929A 10 cent MS62. I thought this would bodybag for cleaning:

5. US Philippines 1904s 10 centavos AU55. A junk box find:

6. South Africa 1953 5 shilling PF66. This one has some black crud on the rims that looks like residue from the sealing process. It wasn''t on the coin when I submitted it:

All in all, it was better than I expected, except for the crud on the SA proof. Can I complain to them and have them reholder it? image

Nice coins! I would complain about the crud as they claim on their website that one of the grading steps is inspecting the slab once sealed.
