THIS IS OUR FIRST POST ON THE FORUM SO I HOPE WE ARE DOING THINGS CORRECTLY. THERE WAS MUCH TALK ABOUT THIS RARE FIND BEING AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE. IT'S NO JOKE. THE COIN IS HERE AND IN HAND!!!! IMHO THIS IS THE ULTIMATE CROWN JEWEL THUS FAR IN THE STATE QUARTER SERIES SINCE WE MADE THE 1999 PA D MS68. WE HAVE BEEN SUBMITTING STATES TO PCGS SINCE 1999 AND HAVE MADE MANY HIGH GRADES AND WE HOPE CONTINUE. I'M GOING TO ATTEMPT TO ADD A PICTURE TO THIS FOR ALL TO SEE AND ENJOY. HAPPY HUNTING AND ENJOY YOUR COINS!!!

You'll sometimes need a thick skin around here.
Don't go away.

<< <i>Mark (Datetype) - Michael (MAS) called me to discuss the coin earlier in the week. I offered to oversee a "showing" of the coin here on the West Coast, but, Michael declined. That is, of course, his perogative. So, is the coin truly deserving of the MS69 grade as Michael believes it is, or is the coin simply a "mechanical grading error" as Mark suspects it is? I guess we may not have the answer to that question for a while as Michael does not generally attend shows either. So, for right now, it is simply a coin most can only dream of slabbing at PCGS

Thanks Wondercoin for bieng so kind. Someday we may meet!!!
<< <i>mas3387, you're the only one whining! if you want to get it on just keep it up. >>
Wow!!
This is an important coin, and deserves another, perhaps closer, looksee.
I, in five-six years have never had a coin lost or damaged by Mitch.
If you can see your way to send it to him for his opinion, I, and perhaps many, many others would greatly appreciate it.
In this day in age, I think the saying is: "Show us da money".
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
True - but, we have lost an 1892 World's Fair Spoon you sent out uninsured to Justin.

I'll never send anything of ANY value unregistered, anymore.
Congrats Mas. Actually most collectors here don't whine when they hear of a coin they don't have and can't have. They just admire it. Pretty cool.
Now, I happen to own one of the few remaining giant cardboard Delaware quarter poster display stand touting the Delaware quarter when they first came out.
It was used in the Wally Mart stores and I understand most of them have ben destroyed. I wonder how many are left. The Delaware quarter was a GREAT DESIGN for a large poster but a lousy design for a small coin.
The detail is incredible in the large poster but is difficult to discern in the MS coins. The PR coins look ok relatively speaking but pales in comparison to the giant poster as the cameo effect makes comparison difficult.
It would be wonderful to see an MS-69 and to compare it to the giant poster for detail and strike.
Would love to see it at a major coin show!!!!!!!!!!!
And, the same is true for the CT(p) MS69, which has never appeared in a Registry set and has made no public appearance to my knowledge or the knowledge of the top several Registered collectors. The ONLY Denver Mint MS69 state quarter in the entire series ever slabbed (a 2000 MASS(d)) is a coin I did handle the sale of - a lovely jewel.
By the way, over the first 5 years of the state quarter program, PCGS has graded just a scant half dozen MS69 coins from among the first 2 years states of the quarter program. I have seen the (4) 2000 MS69 coins and, overall, those coins are cool MS69 coins. Again, no one I know has seen the 1999 CT(p) MS69 and MAS's DEL coin is the 6th of these early MS69's I mention. From PCGS' track record, I have every reason to believe MAS's coin will be a very cool coin as well and I look forward to the day I can see it.

<< <i>After these treads about this quarter, if the Connecticut in 69 does show up, the owner would certainly not want to let this group know about it. >>
No biggie!!! We will get through it. I would also like to see the CT 69
Maybe with all this going on the owner will come forward and we can both show up at a major show?
When i make an ms69 for 00' and 99, I will bring it as well. many people still believe that the ct-p is actually a misslabeled proof that made it in an ms holder by accident. Mosdt likely not (i would think) but anything is possible. i have seen proof ms68 wash quarters before in pcgs holders. Many thanks to the new "Henry Kissenger" Cladking.
