Ask TDN, it is his coin they are talking about. This would be the only one in a NGC holder now, since the Eliasberg is now in a PCGS holder and the ANA coin is now raw. This coin was the 7 millionth coin graded by PCGS (I think this was the one)

..............and "the COIN" versus "the SLAB" saga continues strongly, even now with this rarity!!!!!!
while some are affected by the insert trivia and serial number, i actually had to go back and look at the link to see them. after my initial glance and notice of PF64 as the assigned grade, i found myself dismayed that there was no reverse picture and no way to determine from the small obverse picture if i thought the coin was correctly graded.
it's refreshing to know i'm making progress!!
this is pure hype, nothing more, nothing less. if the services would focus more on correctly grading coins and allowing the market-place to determine their growth rate, we'd all be better served.
It is cool if they actually did it, and, anyone having the kind of money to buy that nickel in the first place, and wanting it, isn't likely to not get it because of the serial number. It is not detracting if you think about it, and it does add to the pedigree and history of the coin. Something that is more enduring that saying it is "norweb" or whatever to many people. Die-hards may not like hearing that, but it is true.
And, like Russ said, this hobby should be fun. Enjoy it and lighten up

Of course it is correctly graded, it was in a PCGS PR64 holder
(and yes, this is the "Legend" coin)

The coin appeared in an episode of the old TV series, Hawaii 5-0.

It's a silly looking slab. I certainly wouldn't want my 1913 Liberty Nickel labeled with such trivia.

Where's your sense of fun? Isn't that what this hobby is supposed to be? If I owned that coin, I'd love to have it in that slab!
Russ, NCNE
I think noting that it's the Hawaii 5-O Coin is cool, but the serial number is less than professional.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I am highly confident that it was a "stunt" nickel/double. Of course, you never know.....

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
As far as I know this is the first NGC slab to ever have the mintage on the label.

Should have been "ONLY 5 FRAUDULENTLY MINTED".
Seriously though, I like it! This is the Legend specimen, right?
hey Bochiman
thanks for enlightening us all on your concept of what we like.
