Searching for Raw cards

I know this should be on the other board, but I've had no luck on that. I am looking for vintage commons to help me fill some sets. I have some cards that I will trade on these such as a 1963 Topps Clemente PSA 8nq. Any help would be appreciated. My PM is open or you can email me at crsportscards@hotmail.com. Thanks.

  • Try Gary Moser from Gem Sportscards in Long Island, New York.

I hear that he has a lot of nice "raw" material left over in his "work room".

Seriously, Raw cards are almost impossible to find on ebay or anywhere else. You might have better luck going to a local card show and trying to find some small dealer who's not into grading yet and still works his prices up using an old Becket guide.

Otherwise you could try Joe from Set Builders or Bill Henderson of Hendersons cards.

    Good luck hunting!

  • I actually score nice raw material (common stuff) on ebay pretty often. You have to buy smaller lots (100 cards +/-). I've been burned a couple times but it is worth it. I've done well buying raw cards from people who pull the cards out of their closet from their personal stash from when they were kids. They usually don't list the items well because they are not in the hobby. Sometimes I just get a feeling about an auction and the seller and take a risk. Usually, these auctions are minus the hype.

Anyway, you can get nice raw stuff off of ebay but you will get crap every now and then. If you can live with that, take some risks.

Also, Mickey and Meg at www.mickeyssportscards.com are an awesome resource. They're grading is spot on and you will be happy with what they send you every time. At least I am.

    cheers,

1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards

I can fill your 59 Topps Baseball want list as I just broke up a set. Some are VG, all the way up to EX-MT. Email me at briankritz@aol.com with your want list.
