I think someone was looking for a pineapple and wanted to spend a penny.

    Nice coin!

The polar opposite of Miss Liberty: a slave. He serves. Not the most politically correct coin, but I've always liked them. I'd like to find a nice EF-UNC one day. That, and the Bahamian George III penny (halfpenny?) with the reference to piracy, and the 1793 Bermuda penny with the ship on the revese. I have a Bermuda penny that I got for a buck and a half, but as you might expect, it's holed and worn. Worn in more ways than one. (As in "slick" and also as in "fashion accessory"). image

Very interesting coin! Even though it's discolored and corroded, the detail's there. I paid way more than that for one in worn condition.
