This was buried in the very long thread about the coin and I thought maybe many didn't get a chance to view it. Plus, the images posted were HUGE and difficult for dialuppers. So I grabbed it and resized it to make it easier for everyone to view.

I just read an article about our early coinage. The dollar was not produced in large quantities due to the extensive use of Spanish (actually Mexican) coins, e.g., the reale. However, most folks prefer to collect the U.S. coinage, which, like this one, was actually used much less than the Spanish coins.

Well, I didn't do the images. I just shrunk them down to make them postable. The originals are gigantic.
