This 1898 Blue Rim-Toned Proof Morgan was purchased off of E-Bay and looks better in person than in the photo. The original purchaser was JBSteven who bought it off of E-Bay, and I purchased the coin from him... I hope that counts as OK for this thread...

That coin looks AT to me.....looks like the work of the infamous Onlyroosies.....also, might be AU58, I see a touch of rub...probably upgraded for the "questionable" color.......

It's probably a nice coin, but that image has been tweaked to kingdom come.

K6AZ, I've seen the coin (it was actually in my posession for about a month as a caretaker) and the image is pretty close to reality. It is an absolutely extraordinary coin that is in all truthfulness, even better than the picture. Toned proof's are very hard to photo - getting both colors and the mirrorsis down right tough!!!! At least I admit its something I can't do very well - not as good as Mr D.

I have no problem getting colors to show without playing with the gamma correction and color saturation. Look at those images side by side.

As to my "prettiest" coin off Ebay. Hell, I don't know. This was most "special" I think: A fairly rare date Half Eagle, 14-S.

I actually found this coin almost a year to the day after I missed out on it in a Heritage Bullet Sale..believe it or not.
