Help with this Carver Half

I just purchased this Carver Half on Ebay and I think there is some kind of PVC damage to the reverse. I am not really sure what PVC damage looks like. Can some one help me? The pictures are below. Thanks

    Looks like it may be PVC damage on both the reverse and the obverse. Give it an acetone bath to get rid of the PVC. You will not be able to see if it really damaged the surface until you remove the PVC.
