That CAREW is a solid 10. Looks very nice my psa 9 is a 10 on the front but the back has a weak corner. I have a few that might get a 10 comparred to that. Maybe I'll submitt a few extras next time. How did that Schmidt do I sent you ? Or the Rickey I sent your freind?
MS ,
Your idea sounds good to me , thanks in advance for you efforts.
Points taken, and I sincerely apologize. My intention was not to make my collection (or vintage) better than modern items. In fact, the more people who stay away from the stuff I collect, the better. Collecting is a personal thing. The post was about collectors (especially kids) sinking tons of money into modern high grade cards because they think that they have something rare. If you're collecting and you need that gem ARod card, fine. If you are buying for investment purposes, then I believe (and so do many others) that such prices will go the way of Beenie Babies, Pokemon, etc.
I sank money into Donruss and Fleer in the early '80s, until some of the hobby's big collectors led me away. Modern cards are generally not a good investment in terms of sportscards, I have a right to express this. If you believe this, and still want to pay such prices, then fine. There's worse ways to spend your money, such as paying high prices for Venezuelan cards.
So why bother you with personal opinion? I guess I'm tired of hyped Ebay listings touting things that they are not. I'm no better than anyone else, it's just a hobby like most of yours. Do what you want.

I was thinking of more colorful phrases, but I guess that will do.
Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
