Cool Eagle coin

SYRACUSIAN

It's not an eagle Bill, it's a phoenix. It is a commemorative coin,
of a series of 4, that share the same obverse.
It was the last time that a phoenix was used as a symbol on Greek coins,
this time chosen by the military that had seized the power with a coup, between 1967 and 1974,
with a soldier standing in front of it.
I don't think it will be used again, until the negative connotations are forgotten.

Many forgeries on the two gold coins of the series.

Lovely bird and design (well, I could do without the soldier, but the phoenix is stunning).
