Let's hear what grade you think the holder says. I gave 2 shots of the obverse at different angles so you can better judge the surface. The colors on this coin are waaaay cool.
UPDATE:
the coin came back a NGC ms66*

EDITED for spelling.
I'm going with MS65.
Edited to add "t" to "got".
You are doing well, subject 15837. You are a good person.
<< <i>How many people said "ouch" when you got to the reverse pic....? >>
I didn't. That's a 684 pixel wide image - just a little bigger than the coin actually is.

What's that nasty looking discolored area to the right of the Miss Liberty's head?

At first I thought it was the 81S in 65 you had for sale at 1950.00. I like your line "If you use the Buy It Now I will pay shipping with insurance included. "
If they pay 2000 for an 81s in 65 you should deliver it to them in Hawaii....and pay thier way there.
in front of Liberty and a tick or two on the cheek. Beautiful colors !!

Tough call what the holder says. It might depend on what holder (which it looks like PCGS) and also.....
Ummm how long you've had it.
<< <i>for all who are interested. I believe the coin will end up in s ms66* NGC holder fairly soon. >>
That's why I said it depends on how long you've had it on grade.
<< <i>I believe the coin will end up in s ms66* NGC holder fairly soon. >>
If it does, don't crack it out and resubmit it to PCGS trying to get it back in an MS65 holder.

BTW, I see the hit but don't think it's soooo bad.

Just depends on whos selling and hows buying as to what the grade is.
Or what the meaning of `is` is.
Little Clintonian humor there. Like it?
Ok I,ll say it. For an 1881 S its not really a gem. 64 technically, maybe 5 with the nice color?
66? Sure I could see it......in an NGC holder or other lower slabs.
I dont know but I think it looks correctly graded now.Market graded that is.
Isnt a 5 in a PCGS holder as good or better than a NGC 66?
It sort of is in my book. Oh well. To each his own.
Nice Morgie.
<< <i>I would MUCH rather have that coin in that cool old 'grafitti tag' PCGS holder than any NGC holder regardless of how NGC would grade it >>
I agree. But then again, I am not in it for the registry points or to make a profit.
