How do I downsize my coin pic?

I took a really good pic of my gold soverign coin that I wanted to show you guys, but after I cropped and zipped it, its size was still 80 KB. Someone mentioned before I could downsize it with some photo site, but its a hassle and you have to sign up and become a member, and I'm not sure how to use it. Someone in the past mentioned some post where a person tells how to downsize your pics.

There must be a way!

I see people post these huge high pic details of their coins on these forums all the time, and I can't seem to do that. Also, where do you guys get the smileys from? I don't see any smileys in this box where I type in the text.

Thanks!

Some come from the list that appears when you click on the arrow in the "Select Emotion" box (imageimageimageimage ) for example, and others come from various websites when their URLs are inserted in the box that appears when you click on the picture frame icon (imageimageimage )for example.

Forget the PCGS links to your hard drive. Upload your pics to an internet host and link them to your threads. You'll be able to link pics as large as 900K (at least, depending on the host).

PM me if you want detailed instructions.

Your can also use your photo editor, somewhere in it there is a place for, Adjust and Send your photos TO the web. Trim, adjust and reduce there and Then post it. Mine is Photoshop 4.1, came with the camera and took awhile to figure out were it was, and how to use it, but it was in one of the Drop downs from the it's toolbarimage here is another photo resizer Download if you want,Free,

Below is actually 2 images. With the right sftware you can get nice images that are under 50K each and have CU host them for you.

All of my images are uploaded to and hosted by PCGS, and are all under the 50kb limit.

If some people are posting pictures nearing 1mb, no wonder it takes me forever to see some of them (even with broadband)!!

  • I have a program called Photo Shop Editor, by microsoft, but I have no clue how to use it. I didn't know you could downsize photos in it. I looked though it and couldn't find any way to downsize photos image

If someone could give me instructions on how to use it that would be great, or else I'll send the pic to one of you experts image

    Thanks

When you save jpegs you should be able to set the file compression so that even a 400 X 400 image could be under 50k. Look in your program help file there should be something in there to point you in the right direction.

Check this thread for instructions on posting pictures.

You can send me some pictures if you want but my e-mail limit is 1.5mb per e-mail and 5mb total before it will return them.

I use adobe photoshop. Then just open the picture and pick file-save for the web-low.
