Hello folks, first time post here. I got this coin a few months ago, and I am wondering what grade it is, and weather it is or is not what I think it is.
It is an 1805 US Half Cent, with stems on the wreath. But I'm not sure if it is a small or a large 5. So, I will leave that upto you fine folks. I took pictures of the coin about as good as I could get (and from straight on, as I've read you folks don't like angled shots). I'm hoping it's a small 5 (obviouslly...), but I have my doubts (due to the rarity) and think it is a large 5. And if it IS a small 5, is this coin slab-worthy?
Obverse (207 kB)
Reverse (192 kB)
LIBERTY (113 kB)
Date (54.2 kB)
Thanks for any help you folks can provide.
Also, thoes pictures are hosted on my computer. If the links suddenly stop working, means my miniHTTP program has crashed. If anyone has some space and wants to host them for free, by all means, I have no objections.

That.. was quick. Thanks, both of you (and all later welcomes). I havn't collected coins too very long (Hell, I'm only 22), and I don't have many valuable coins at all. If that one is a small 5, that would be my most valuable coin. I'm sure that will change once I get a nice, steady income of money...
<< <i>DominusDeus: Welcome to the forum! Your author icon image looks hauntingly familiar to me, and reminds me of the "MAD" 1960's >>
MAD Magazine, indeed. That would be Alfred E. Neuman. What? Him worry? Nah.
If ANACS were grading it, I think it would be NET Good-4, Corroded.
Welcome to the boards.

Small 5, G4. Nice, that rates a $500 in my 2003 Red Book. Sweet

While we're on the subject of copper cents, I have 4 others I'd like to get "inspected" by some of you fine folks... that is, if you don't mind... Thoes are all the large cents I have, actually...
The half cent looks like the small 5 to me. The large 5 comes extremely close to touching the bust.
Enjoy the old coppers. I know I do

Hahaha, I would've like to have seen a picture of him. If he does look like Alfred, that's priceless!

Nice... Friend of mine has an 1804 one (i think) that looks to be in VF20 or so condition. Looks damn spiffy.
