Which, considering the former PCGS graders have been scoring around 75%, doesn't seem that farfetched.
On top of that, it was lightly dipped, so the coin didn't have great luster. Other than those problems, the coin was borderline superb. I ended up grading the coin 66
Andy, if the coin was dipped and it "didn't have great luster", then could it really be a 66? You, and others, say that the coin had problems. Seems like it would be technically graded as MS-63. I have not seen the coin, so forgive me if my post does not make sense.
I graded the TD correctly and my reasoning was eye appeal and the surfaces looked good... all things considered. I really thought I screwed that one up too. The 1911-D was fake... I didn't like the D. I thought the Texas Commem was tough... I graded it a 66 and was off (64 was the correct grade). I loved the 1939-s Walker and thought long and hard before calling it a 64...wrong again AND I admit that was just wrong on my part. One of the bigger disappointments was the 41-s Walker. I thought it was a dud for a 65 and I called it a 63. And yes I know they are weakly struck and all, but this example just didn't do much for me. I missed badly on the 1892 21/2 D. I thought 64... a bad mistake on my part.

Yes. On a scale of 1 to 10, the luster was a seven. I can definitely live with that on a 66 coin.
