Filled a hole today as well - ARRIVAL

image

This date is a really tough one to get in high grade. The entire year's supply was toned at the mint so there are likely not to be any BUs about. Watch out for cleaned ones.

I'm really happy with this one. It's got some bag marks and the like but it is the first truly uncirculated example I have ever seen. It's got the same nice toning sheen I have seen on the pennies dated 1944-1946. I imagine they see this date more often over in the UK, but I have never found one here until now.

What do you mean about them being toned at the mint? Can you elaborate?

Nice, by the way. I always thought it was strange that their pennies were so big. Do you know why that was? Maybe you could actually buy something with a penny back then?

ttt - new pictures. This is a nice example that should be used as a model for evaluating this particular date.

    Awesome coin, young man!

I can see a fingerprint on the reverse, but it's not too obtrusive. I hope this one wasn't kept in PVC.

    Beauty, eh?

I don't know why anyone would want to collect coins of George V, though.

Does look great. I've had some EF's, but never an UNC.
