Sorry for the bad crop, but I would appreciate your thoughts about this coin (grade, problems, etc.). Thanks in advance.

Seems dipped/cleaned AU to me, not my taste.

Detail wise, looks AU53 to me. It could just be the image, but I don't like the color of it.

I'm guessing it was a nice original AU recently, but now its been dipped, stripped and neutered by someone to cram it into a MS holder.

I'd immediately run away from it like a Gnu. I'm sorry, I meant a Gazelle.

If that was the plan, it'd have to be a NTC or ACG holder...

Cleaned, run of the mill EF-AU that often ends up in a NTC or ACG holder MS-61 with a "bargain price" marked on it.

This date is a big deal in true Mint State. Circulated and cleaned coins like this one don't amount to squat. image

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Some kind of AU. The yellow color makes it look chemically cleaned & retoned at one time.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

AU58 from a technical wear aspect. I think some of the flatness is due to strike. But certainly cleaned and played with so the net grade is less. The amount of cleaning damage can only be assessed in person. I think the coin is ok as an AU.

AU53 tops... doesn't look original and there is nothing about it that sets it apart from others in this grade. $225 -$250 tops.

Wont holder at PCGS/NGC. Unless you can get it dirt cheap, I would not buy it for re-sale. I bought a raw AU last year that I got holdered at PCGS in 53, but didnt have many buyers intrested. I thought with the large spread, it would do better, and I would make a buck. Dont think I made 10.00 on the deal. Most people who cant swing the MS coin want a PCGS-58 quality coin with nice luster.
