What do the words mean around the 1911+ gold soverigns?

I have a 1913 british gold soverign. Made in london I think, (It has no mintmark). On the side with george's head it has a bunch of letters with : inbetween them. I always wondered what these meant, british speak english right?

  • It's Latin.

    As a footnote,

Indae Imperator was dropped from the monarch's title in 1949 as India had become a sovereign nation.

Britanniarum Omn was dropped in 1954 as the British empire had been whittled away.

Is that why you translated Omn as Oman? What is Oman anyway?

It's been 54 years since I was studying Latin in high school, but I think OMN is short for "Omni", meaning total or all.image
