I'm looking for coins, don't much care the method of sell, although I prefer non-Ebay, only because I'm not a good sniper. image

cut/pasted from a post I made yesterday but Very applicable here.

I don't mind it and the ebay listings but it seems that there are always people that

    1. refuse to put EBAY in title
    2. refuse to put ebay in title and instead substitute FOR SALE........uh........It's NOT for sale
    3. people that continously ignore the unwritten rule of TTT'ing ONCE per day and starting multiple threads at the same time for a couple of coins and TTT them more than 1x/day. Thread titles like BigD uses (for example) are always going to get me to look inside!
    4. people that say that a website is updated...........personally I don't understand these threads
    5. if it isn't an actual coin/coin book for sale, wanted, auction, make offer, then I think the threads should be removed

    The few.....

    a loudly outspoken minority.....

because they let small, insignificant details get under their skin...........

trying to make everyone else do things their way.....

because it will make them happy........

and we have to hear about it.....

    again and again, and again......

To paraphrase my friend Dennis, "If I wanted to be nagged, I'd shut off the computer and spend more time with my wife!!"

Any received abuse relating to this statement may be politely ignored!

(Please make note that I DO try to follow those self-imposed guidelines as noted by Goose!)

BY THE WAY, THIS IS OFF TOPIC AS THERE IS NOTHING FOR SALE/TRADE OR ASKING TO BUY!

    Please follow your own rules!

  • I agree with goose, I don't mind the EBay auctions posted in the BST forum... but when I'm at school, I can't get on EBay, so I like to easilly be able to discern FS coins from FA coins...

I find it utterly offensive that people post Ebay to the BST! That is why I continue to do it as a protest! image

Just food for thought, so please THINK about it before you start typing-

    ebay is seen virtually worldwide

Have you ever stopped to think

1- Your fellow collectors are posting her really out of courtesy
just in case you happen to need such an item.

2- That those who post their ebay wares here
in most cases offer fellow board members free shipping
and in many other cases they offer to cancel
listings outright to accomodate our little family first!

So tell me, where's the harm/ the wrong in that?image

Ever looked at it that way? Post on!
  • RNCHSNRNCHSN Posts: 2,609 ✭✭✭
    Boom,

I never looked at it that way, but you have a very valid point!

(And put in a clear concise manner as well.)

Thank you for an added perspective!

  • I love Ebay! Coins usually sell there for less$$$
  • I think ebay needs its own section......

If I want to look on ebay for something I'll look on ebay.....I do not want to wade through the "check out my ebay auction" on the BST board.....

  • I like to look at the ebay offerings on the BST board. I'm just a lurker here and a very part time ebay user. The last time I sold coins on ebay I promoted my auctions here because I thought it would add a certain bit of legitimately to them. If I were a scammer a cheat or a thief this is the last group of people I would want hounding me. My $.02

I like what Boom said... and I always look on the BST before I go to ebay.... and if I know a board member is an ebay seller, I check their offerings first. Just a matter of trust... Cheers, RickO

I have no problem with eBay auctions being included in the BST as long as it says eBay in the title. Unfortunately people don't do this.

  • The BSTC should be set up to limit ONE or TWO post per member per day. This is easy to do with software. If you need to contact a member use the PMs. Simple easy way to cut out all the BS here

    Preach it brother.
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

I think if someone were to do a brand new poll on the matter that there'd be an overwhelming NO to ebay crap on here.

    There's a reason I call it the Ebay/Bullion board.
  • robkoolrobkool Posts: 5,934 ✭✭✭✭✭
I would like to try avoiding ebay myself...
    Great poll...

I think promoting the ebay sales is a good thing ( I am guilty of this myself) but it is not a true BST, it should be BST and for Auction
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

    Will this subject never die?

If it was going to happen it would have by now.
