For us folks who probably won't being making it-- my wife's due date is August 1st, and our first child is probably is tad larger priority (but if I find out there are some cheap T-205s I am going to be pissed )...someone make sure you take some good digital pics and post them here.
I want to make sure that I get a chance to see everyone enjoying themselves. Feel free to take pics of all the empty beer cups stacked up in front of the King.
I'm sad I can't go this year, as I would enjoy meeting Griffins and Interchanges(I think he said he would be going), but I must tend to family, which is much more important.
***Thinking*** Now if I can just figure out how to get my mother-in-law to hang with them, I could make a day trip. ***Thinking*** 5 hours up....5 hours back.... ***Thinking*** I don't think the baby will be taking a first step or really doing much of anything but sleeping
****thinking, also****** Hmmmmm.... A bunch of crazy Registry guys, all at the game.....
****thinking, also****** Hmmmmmm.....A free lunch at the Luncheon.........
****thinking, also****** Hmmmmmm.....KING KELLOGG will hand you a PSA 10 Kellogg's card, just for doing so much thinking........Hmmmmmm.......(No, not everyone is going to get a 10.....)
Hope to see 'ya there......

I LOVE FANCY CURRENCY, pretty girls, Disney Dollars, pretty girls, MPC's, ..did I mention pretty girls???
I'm thinking that there is a 1% chance I will go to the national, depending on summer school and how much cash I have on hand at the time. If you want to random road trip it from TX, I might be down for that. Yeah, we would spend all our cash on gas, but maybe if we live like Hobos for a couple of days we could afford some cards up there. I have never been to a show and it sounds like a blast. Keep in mind this is extremely tentative but I just wanted to lay it out on the table.
Well...Looks like the Thursday game (22nd.) is SOLD OUT.
There are 6 seats left for the Saturday game (24th.) . .(Again...1st come / 1st served...) If you're thinking about going to the ball game with the rest of us, you might want to get your tickets soon, as I won't be getting any more........
Many thanks to all that signed up..

Just got back from the last game, and wanted to give a big thanks to Larry for putting this all together. Tonite was a great game, a come from behind bottom of the ninth (™ Greg) victory, followed by a booming fireworks show. Great bunch of guys and a great host- The King/Duke kept my beer glass full (guess he got the beer credits from Joe) while chatting up my wife on the long term bull market on cards, and spoiling my son Griffin with endless trips to the gift shop. All in all a fitting end to the National. Thanks to Larry and everyone else for exceeding all expectations. See you in Anaheim in 2 years!
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
Just got back myself. Griffins -- hopefully my trivia tid bit about the starting pitcher didn't offend the family too much.
King -- you are the man, thanks so much for setting all of this up. What an amazing night. Unfortunately the #1 moment in the Jake's history was Tony Pena's homer. I really don't like the man...
Where have you gone Dave Vargha CU turns its lonely eyes to you What's the you say, Mrs Robinson Vargha bucks have left and gone away?
I had such an incerdible time out here.It was beyond a pleasure to be among a fabulious group of people out here. It's been a real long time for me to say I had this much fun.
For me it wasn't all about the cards,it was all about the people in this little community who collect them and beyond. In this group of people who made it out it was priceless to just be there and sit in on the conversation regarding the hobby and go furter in depth with each individual.I'm really glad to have chosen to take this opportunity to take a well needed vacation and meet everyone I have face to face.
On the top of my list of thanks would be King Kellogg for going above and beyond the call of duty by making a ton of arrangements to make this event possible. You don't know how fun he is until you sit and have a brew with the king of the greatest hobby we are all a part of.For you 67 guys out there you would have died watching him pull 67s out of his wallet and showing everyone what kids used to do with sports cards. On the other hand, the abuse the cards in his wallet take show you how much the sports card hobby has changed.
Next feller on the list is Hartlandman. You don't know what fun is until you come across a guy like this.I look forward to the day when I can walk about life the way he does. This guy is living out his dreams and galvanting throughout the hobby with great enthusiasim and touching every person with his passion for it.I have a lot to thank Joe for but will do that some other time.
All in all,it was a great honor to meet everyone I did and glad there was an opportunity to place a face with each character that belongs to the forums. There is no price you can put on making new friends in this hobby and heaing the passion they have for it.
I strongly recommend at your very next opportunity that if you ever get to take the time out to physically hang with any one of these people on the forums I've run into who experienced this convention will not regret it.There was not a single dull moment for me and there are a handfull more to come today as we shake hands and go back home on the final day.
