Numbers of women buying coins is on the rise

When I started dealing coins there were very few women that collected or bought coins but that appears to be changing. I am seeing more women at the shows actually looking at coins (rather than just haning out with their spose) and I'm also noticing I'm shipping a much higher percentage of my Ebay sales to ladies. I would like to welcome all the ladies to the hobby and it is long overdue!

I can only imagine the haggling going on during those special days.
Girl power!
Showing up at a booth,sitting down,studying the coins,wear etc?
Then making an offer.
How fun, this is definitely a girls game too.
Most girls are just to intimidated to play the game.
But there are a few, just a few ,special, smart ladies that will give you guys a run for your money(coins that is)

women but there are more people of more races, religions, ethnicities, and age groups
as well. The largest gains so far seem to have been with women and younger people,
but there do appear to be lots of others also coming aboard.
The increasing numbers of women seems to have been occuring for quite some time, at
least back into the mid-'80's.
The forum has really opened my eyes that every thing bright and new isn’t always the prettiest. And I must say it was refreshing to come to the forum and see that there were other women collecting coins. Not just widows who’s husbands had left them a hoard of old coins. Women with a passion.
It sounds like you already have some of the "passion" yourself.
My other passion is photography (I shoot weddings and managed a camera store and photo lab for over four years), and that is another hobby/career that is male dominated.
It can't be that we spend our money on shoes, can it?

Those are very nice Kennedys you have there.
I also have a decent currency collection besides my coins.
I cordially invite you to visit the Darkside (World and Ancient Coins Forum); I'm sure you'll find many interesting coins that fit your budget-minded style.
Great thread.
