  • Just be friendly and bring any prices guides or coin lists you might need since members usualy have coins to sell or there might be a small auction that the club hosts. Wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Shave 'em then! My coin club also has a 50/50 raffle so bring some extra bucks if you want to get into the raffle. To go along with what Cameron said, my coin club does have an auction at the end of the business meeting (which usually lasts 10 minutes!).

  • Just bring a pleasant personality...and for the first few meetings sit and listen. You'll figure out who the big dogs in the club are and whether the flow of the club meets your interests.
  • The perception of coin collectors is that they are nerds...am I going to run into a bunch of nerds? Im REALLY cool! image

There's some of that...but more readily..if you're under 65, you'll probably be the youngest guy in the room save the kids and grandkids...

What is the name of the coin club? What city?

  • I've been going to my local coin club for over a year now, and I think I am finally getting comfortable with them and them with me. They are very friendly, but it was not until I gave my first 'program' (show-and-tell, of my 19th century Liberia patterns and some books and stuff on Liberia) that I think they really started to warm up. My advice: keep going, be patient, and eventually offer to do a program.
