This seller touches up their images. I have followed this seller since they sold nothing but ACG garbage. Don't walk, but run away from this seller.

Just remember there is no Santa Claus in numismatics, and you don't get something for nothing. If you want a MS65 84-CC, pay the $325 or so an accurately graded 65 will cost.
  • It looks like a number of touch-up spots on the obverse, as well as the reverse. What a lame POS seller!

How unethical can this seller get. Touching up photographs, is not exactly "cricket".

The 84-CC in PCI 65 looks all of a "66", but disappointment looms in your future, I'm afraid.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though - they're a POWER SELLER. They're required to uphold the highest ethical standards in the land.

I was just pointing out the two most obvious areas. In all, I think I found seven areas this photo was touched up in.

I would definitely tell the seller to just go ahead and keep it.

How many times do people have to be told that a PCI gold slab is dangerous to your wallet? RUN don't walk.

After consulting with my computer graphics compression consultant, he says that those squares could easily be the compression at work and is not conclusive to being touched up. He, of course, cannot say that it was not touched up, but he says that he's not sure that it WAS touched up either.

Let us know when you get the coin, be sure to save the original picture from the auction.

There are a lot of overgraded CC dollars in slabs these days. These coins have way too many marks on the cheek to grade MS-65 IMO. So anything is possible.

However, I agree with the others. This picture has been doctored to hide something, and I don't that it is a mark-free cheek!

Definitely touched up. I created Cameo Icons with a Morgan Dollar and it looked exactly the same - I "rubbed" out flaws on the cheek and neck. The squares don't mean anything.

Tom, I have considerable graphics experience, along with about four years experience following this eBay sleaze. That image has been touched up, there is no doubt about it.

You can almost see the little finger (smear tool) rubbing Miss Liberty's cheak.
