  • I guess the comments are as blank as the coin (or should I say Blank)?

  • I haven't seen a blank planhet for a SAC yet. Are they scarce?

No they aren't really scarce as more are showing up every year. I paid $25 for mine about 6 months ago and I knew I shouldn't pay that much as they will come down!

The strike looks weak... probably why the MS60 grade!
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!
  • Have you seen one graded by PCGS before? I haven't???

I didn't know PCGS did blank planchets.

Actually they are impossible to grade unless they are well worn!

  • Ok, i got a guess

  • Good job ThunderChucks....Was that way over priced for a little peice that doesn't come around the bend everyday?

Actually, that is preferable to a struck coin ... image
  • This is a personal opinion, I don't know if there is a serious demand for blank planchets. But i consider it more of a novelty than a collectors piece. Once the price went over 20 bucks i lost interest and deleted from my watch list. There's just something about a struck coin that appeals to me, even if its (or better yet) especially if the strike is off in some way.
As to whether or not you paid to much, only time will tell. I think the Sac market is fairly hot right now, especially with new collectors. I've taken a wait and see attitude with sacs, in a few years the people who are only collecting cause everyone else is will sell, and then i believe there'll be more of a buyers market for these coins.

Anyways thats my 2 cents worth.

Hey that's neat! T-2 retails for $100 so you got a good deal on it for $80??????

That design looks better than the actual Sac.image
  • Point well taken...... BUT, it does look nice in the eagle album next to my #15th Sacagawea registry set coins. Thanks for the admiration and nice comments. It wasn't every day I got a chance to buy a grade blank.so I did and it will go with the other "I have to have one one these" in my collection. I know we all have some of these and probally paid too much but said to ourselves....self, I can justify this purchase, and then proceeded with it. I like it thats all that really matters, isn't it? Thanks.......

I've got a set of both T-1 & T-2 blanks & planchets in all denominations in my 1997 Error Set. I can't prove they're 1997 but nobody can prove they're not. JFK blanks were my toughest; they're about $50-$75.
