Upgrading my grandaughters nickel collection..Pics

I found this upgrade for my two grandaughters raw Jefferson Proof collection today. Any ideas on a grade? Would it be of any benefit to slab this one for them?......Ken

Great picture Ken. I can't grade proofs but that obverse looks SuperDuperDCAM to me.

Great photos and coin! If it did grade 69 DCAM it would be worth doing for sure. My guess is 68 DCAM, but to be honest I often can't tell the difference between a 67, 68 and 69 DCAM from photos.

I might just take this along to Baltimore and have PCGS give an opinion. If I'm not mistaken, Keets will also be there. Maybe he could give me some guidance....Ken

Hey Ben

if the picture is an accurate depiction of the coin and their are no discernible hairlines when held and rocked under good lighting, it should most certainly be submitted under the regular service. as shown in the picture, it appears to be an early strike off new dies, no frost fade and flawless surfaces. why would you hesitate about a $600-$700 price vs. a $30 submission fee? no guts = no glory, so just sell it to me sight unseen for $50 provided the picture is untampered with and their are no hairlines!!

Ken, I'm almost possitive it will come back PR69DCam. Excellent frost on all devices obverse and reverse, and likewise, the fields are deep and pure, with no hailines (visible). Looks as good as the one I sold at the last Bullet sale, and definitely a better picture then Heritages!

You'll look a very long time before you upgrade this one. It's worth $30 for the protection alone.

I see maybe a tiny tiny little spot of haze to the upper left of the dome, but that could be reflection. I think that'd be a real good candidate for 69DCAM. Your granddaughter should have a nice collection.
