Things to do while PCGS holds your coins hostage

Here are somethings one can do while waiting for the release of your coins from PCGS
1. Relax and think nothing of your coins, they will come home soon, They're big coins and can take care of themselves.
2. Clean the garage. The only problem with this is if you live in a climate like I do and the spring thaw is months away.
3. Look at and enjoy your collection and dream! Dream of the day when those nasty holes in your collection will be filled once your coins return from PCGS.
4. Rejoice with others who have had their coins graded and returnedimage
5. Polish up your knowledge on AH Kennedys.
6. Surf ebay and enjoy all the buffoonery.
7. Rock the night away listening to 50's classics "Beep-bop-a-lula!!!
8. Practice your AT skills.
9. Got milk?
10. Wish you could beat the living Guinness out of the person who came up with this STUPID list!image

    When you send in a regular submission (15 days) get a countdown clock to watch!!!
    It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    I didn't see these two necessary tasks:

    1. Check every 2 hours for an update online
    2. Complain every 2 weeks on the board

    And, yes, I'm guilty of both!!

    Why would you send sample slabs in to be graded in the first place????

  • I don't. Thats the point. Count your sample slabs while submission coins are in.

    How about writing poetry to express the anguish and angst? --

    Still Waiting For Grades

    I sent my coins to Newport Beach,
    bagged and flipped; one in each.

    Five or more it has to be,
    if you want Economy.

    Sixteen per and postage both ways;
    and the website says: “takes 90 days”!!

    Now I sit to wait and wait...
    please be Unc. not 58!

    The color looked real, at least to me;
    Don’t even suggest it is AT.

    Months go by, my memory fades;
    just what were the original grades?

    Faster times would be so neat;
    is it better across the street?

    Status checks are never ending;
    always the answer is “still pending.”

    Then one day... hold on steady;
    an e-mail arrives... grades are ready!

    Click the link; there’s the list.
    wow, a hit! Oops, I missed.

    All in all, about as expected;
    this time at least, none rejected.

    I gripe about the time and cost;
    and higher grades that were lost.

    But since I want my set to match;
    of course I’ll send another batch.
    When in doubt, don't.

    I just noticed this today under the grade check page.

    Guarantee Turnaround Policy

    As of March 2004, PCGS's guarantee turnaround policy will be one like submission for each day late, up to the total number of coins submitted.

    For example:
    3 coins submitted through the Express Service level and the submission is 1 day late, you will receive 1 voucher for the Express Service.

    4 coins submitted through the 15 Day Regular Service level and the submission is 5 days late, you will receive 4 vouchers for the 15 Day Regular Service.
    For your convenience, we will send separate vouchers which may be used at any time within a 6 month period at your discretion.

    Thank you for your continued support of PCGS."
