That Jackson medal is really cool. How much do those usually go for?

The last price update for Hake (the standard for political items) had it listed at $80, but that was 1998. I suspect it is at least a $120 item now.

Hmmm... might have to place a bid. Old Hickory'd look mighty nice in my collection.

I have never considered collecting political items, although I have seen several of them on your website.

Speaking of ol' Hickory.....somewhere in my wee library I have an original document (1836 or so) of the proceedings of the Senate and/or House discussing the volatile Bank of the United States issue.

Also, an 1840 copy of the Rules of Congress written by Jefferson in his earlier years (yep, he was dead by 1840). image

It's such a thin book too. Maybe we should trash whatever they use now and start over with this copy.........refreshing, eh!?

Early political items are cool. I am interested in the races between McKinley and Bryan in 1896 and 1900.

Do you collect political items Dark Mouse?

I have added very little to my collection over the last year, too many English coins I want, but it is a lot of fun!

That is pretty cool, too. I always thought TR was a pretty cool guy (from what I have read and watched). I'm trying to figure out what exactly a brass fob is used for, though.

I believe it is supposed to be a baggage tag. The idea being Roosevelt and Fairbanks were packed and ready for Washington.
