Is this thing fake? It would seem to be since it is dated February 1776.

Not that I know anything about these, it just caught my eye.

Yes, this thing is on the level. It's a low grade rag however.

There were the following denominations: 1/6 of a dollar, 1/3 of a dollar, 1/2 of a dollar, and 2/3 of a dollar

There were also 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 dollar notes as well.

I gotta go now, but I'll post a picture of my note latter.

Genuine, reasonably common and not worth what the seller is trying to get out of it.

appears genuine, maybe grades vg, i'd guess it's worth $75.

Here's one from my very small collection of paper. Common or not, I think that these things are neat. These was first place where the Fugio design was used, and you cant' beat the date of authorization, Feb 17, 1776.



I paid a couple of hundred dollars for this one over 10 years ago.

collectors ask all the time "what's the most underrated series in numismatics?". i think colonial currency is a top contender.
