Help me grade this raw Frankie

This is a 1959 Proof Frankie. Help me grade this beauty.

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

  • It is virtually impossible to grade a proof Franklin from a photo. With that being said, if that coin is free from hairlines as well as any hidden spots (I don't see any) I would say it is at least a 67, with a shot at 68.

    ps, I do see a touch of tone here and there, as long as it is not dark and obtrusive it should still be in that range

    hard to do without rotating the coin and searchin for those nasty ol hairlines...

    from the image, it looks to be in the pr67 - pr68 range....

    I got lucky on this one- not only is there no hair on his head but there is also no hairlines in the fields

    looks easily a 67.

    it that some toneing i see or just shadows......

    I shot it in natural light (thanks Ken) and it looks like there might be a touch of toning starting to reveal itself, although looking at it with a naked eye, you don't see the toning. I picked up this coin about 20 years ago and it was graded by a really conservative professional as a Pf67 +. I would guess on a good day I might make a 68. Thanks for the opinions Lady and gentlemen.
