Your 2¢ on my 2¢- *Grade Posted*

I am thinking about sending this coin in for grading. It is a 1870 2¢ coin that was left to me by my grandfather. I am somewhat new to coin collecting and don't feel confident with my grading abilities. To me this seems about MS-65.
It has lots of color and almost has a proof look to it. Would you say it was red/brown or red?
There is a slight rim dent above GOD on the obverse, would this prevent a decent grade?
Thanks for your opinion.

Unfortunately, the picture is way too dark to come to a grade.

PS- Welcome!!!
Wow, Can you believe this is the same coin? Photoshopped for brightness and contrast.
I admit to takeing a bit of artist license with adjust color to give it a copper coin look.
Makes the first photoshop job look bad.
I took both of the photos and lightened them a bit and then did a photo-negative.
(The negative images really make the details stand out - even when lighting is poor).
There is a bit of something going on with "In God" portion of the streamer and letters but, I also noticed that there is something going on in the rim area just above the "In God" area as well. I cannot make out what it is but it appears to be inherent to the coin.
On the obverse it sure looks like there is a problem with that O in "OF"...and there appear to be a few tiny (very tiny) areas of dirt or corrosion (perhaps they would appear as a mild green or blue).
As for grade, again the photos are too dark to get a true sense of the coin's natural character. Nice specimen though...very nice. It would be worth a slab at any rate just to protect it.
All IMHO
Sorry, I forgot to include the links to the images
Hopefully these images work... they are just a bit lighter than I expected them to be.
Looks like it might be worth submitting.
Thanks for the help all!

Forget the grade- get it in plastic at least to protect it. You don't want anything to happen to such a special coin! It's a really
nice example of a two center!
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
That is a large part of the reason that I suspect the subject coin is a Proof and not a business strike. Another consideration is that the coin at least appears to be from the dies used to strike Proofs.
It would clearly be a MUCH easier call in person, for if the coin is a Proof, the mirror surfaces, squared edge, etc. will be readily apparent/obvious in person.
I may be selling it at some point, but for now know it is going to PCGS.
I created a web site of some of the coins I have from my grandfather. That way I can still check them out, and keep them at the bank. Feel free to take a look at my other coins from the link below. Some tabs are not functional, but many are. None of the coins are in slabs. I am planning to send in the 2¢ and 2 1883 one dollar gold pieces. These two are so nice it is scary. Both show a weak Liberty in the headband, but are otherwise nice. I might send in the 3 dollar gold coin or a 1791 Washington piece. Anyone have any other picks let me know.
All of the images I have of the coins I did using a scanner. I was simply able to get more uniform images than with my camera. Gold and silver work well, but copper has limitations. Also bear in mind I do all my computer work on a Mac, which has different gamma than a PC. I have not tested this site on a PC so crank up the brightness if you need to.
Thanks again for the help!

I bet it would have been a 65 if not for the rim dent at 11:00.

I added the 3 other scores I got to the gold and Washington cent on my site as well.
