NGC set registry award?!

It's a bit embarrassing, but I got an NGC Registry Award for my set of AU-55 to MS-61 20 cent pieces (my "Doomed Double Dimes" collection). I know tradedollarnut has some gem pieces, so it's a bit of an embarrassment for a darksider like me to get an award. image

    Way to go. First you get published, and now you have an award-winning Registry set. Worthy accomplishments, both.

    What's funny to me is that there are collectors out there with all coins in gem BU, and I only have the regular circulation coins in AU to low grade MS (no 1876-CC, of course). It just goes to show that the "finest known" according to PCGS or NGC is a long ways away from the finest in some cases.

    Interesting - Yesterday I got an NGC Registry set award also - din't even know I was in the running for anything Had to go back and look at the Registry to see what I'd posted, its been so long since I added any coin. (No check though, and no "good for XX free submissions" either. image
