Take Your Best Shot. Only about a week left on the Boards for Me.

Finally the house has sold and will close next Tuesday or Wednesday. In my typical lifelong scheme of things the wife and I will just be winging it, Mercury Wing, for a period of time. All of the stuff will go into storage, computer also, untill we decide exactly what we want to do and where to live.

My vision right now is a little road trip so if a Grey haired guy should show on your doorstep please provide a meal and a Coke. I never have been in the southwestern U.S.of A. so I think this is the place to see right now. Spring training for Baseball is coming up so thats a plus also for going there.

Thats it and Finally a little relaxation from this somewhat stressfull ordeal, work situation and Home sale.

Thanks for the Great Times with all of you. I will be back and thats a threat.....image

  • May mother nature be kind to you and give you fair travel. I visited Arizona on my way across the US to go overseas for duty. I really liked the people and the weather (hot but not humid - good for people with nazal conditions). Will continue to search to hear how you do on your travel - picking up change on the way for your collection.

Good luck winging accross the country. Try South West Florida, its real sweet for 6 or 7 months, warm for 2 months and hot 4 months...but no snow.

    Ken:

I echo everyone's dismay at the thought of losing you (albeit temporarily!) and everyone's happiness at seeing you do what you want to do.

I HOPE that you manage to stop off at some Internet cafes or else public libraries on your trip and check back in with us. It would be so cool if once a week (or more frequently) you found yourself, say, a library and posted about your trip!

But, best of luck and HURRY back.

    Hey Ken,

Come on down to Texas and I'll fix you and Karen the best steaks you ever put in your mouth. Lots to do here and the weather will be good until about June. I've got a 351 that's ready to put back together and could use your help. You wouldn't mind a little sour mash in that Coke would you? I'll keep a light on for you. Safe trip my friend!

    Ken,

Your absence will leave a void here, so we look forward to your return.

A road trip with the missus sounds like a lot of fun. There's so much natural beauty to see in the southwest, so take your time and enjoy what may be a once in a lifetime event. Go to as many places as you can; get out of the car, and do some hiking, camping, and lots of sightseeing while you're young enough to be able to do so. I know people who would give anything for such an opportunity, and I know you'll take full advantage of it. I wouldn't be surprised if you find a place to relocate somewhere in the southwest. Send me a PM if you think there's a chance you'll be passing through the Denver area, and I'll tell you how to contact me.

I wish you a safe journey.

Holy Smokes.... Thanks so much for all of the kind replys. I guess it depends on the wife just how far I get to go on the trip. I think she could last probably about two weeks and then would get a little bored. We will see though.

Florida would be very nice as both the Dodgers, my team from as far back as their New York days, and Atlanta, the wifes team, both have spring training there. Time would be the factor as the Portland ANA Show just cannot be missed. I have been really looking forward to the show so that a bunch of people could be met that are on these forums. Heck might even look at a couple of coins also.

Certainly I am humbled by these responses. Thanks Again.....image

    Ken,

I have learned more from you than any other person on these forums. As for the kind responses you deserve them all; you're a class act my friend! You and your wife take care, enjoy you time together, and come back safe, fresh and renewed. Life is too short!
