Sorry for the delay in posting, but I've been away a few days on a family matter.
I don't know exactly how many slabs I own, but I have 2,974 on the registry. I will have to count up all the cards that I have later in the week, but I would estimate that I have another 1,500 that I haven't registered. That would make my total about 4,474. This doesn't count the 500 cards I currently have in transit to PSA or the 60 flips I know I have at home.
Since I was gone I didn't hear what all the uproar was about. What was said and where can I read it?

Looking for 1975, 1978, and 1979 Topps Baseball in high end PSA 9 and PSA 10. ______________________________________ The best presents in life are the ones you give yourself!
I have been keeping up with this, if anyone has checked. I thought it was time for an update.
As of this post, we have accounted for 165,860 PSA graded cards. I would imagine that if everyone who posts here added their totals, we would easily be over 3% and would probably approach 4%.
Although i really am not ready to give a total of my psa cards i would like to see this thread stay up for more to see.So with that said each day i will commit to 25 psa cards until my total figure is met,and that will take a good many days.so as of today count skinsfan in for the 1st group of at least 25 with many more to come.Thats here from some of the other big guns yet to post. And again as i stated earlier in this thread what % of the vintage cards do you think the regulars on this board acount for.My guess 15 to 20% at least FEAR THE FUZZ HOW ABOUT A TOTAL MY FRIEND
This thread is very very interesting. Almost every single one of those who have posted the number of PSA cards in their collection are exclusively vintage collectors. That suggests that the a large percentage of the remainder of PSA cards unaccounted for belong to modern card collectors.
If 2 1/2 percent of PSA customers are vintage collectors and 97 1/2 of PSA customers are modern collectors, should marketing efforts be directed at vintage collectors?
If 20% are vintage collectors and 80% are modern collectors, whose business should PSA go after?
Perhaps this thread will encourage the powers that be at PSA to focus their energy on marketing to modern collectors, rather than cater to collectors of vintage cards. If I were in charge of a major grading company, I would pay close attention to these numbers.
KOBY good point but remember most vintage collectors are paying at least $10 per card many much higher and most new stuff gets graded at $5 bucks per pop wheres the profit margin?

Uh oh, did we just shoot ourselves in our "collective foot"?
It's not surprising to me that most on these boards are vintage collectors. We build sets and most sets worth building need to be vintage to make the grading fees worth while.
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"
I think everyone here, (including the powers that be) know that many collectors of both vintage and modern cards have not posted their card count on this thread yet.... and may never do so. The thread started under strained circumstances, and some may see it more as a rebellion than as a question. Also, most modern collectors tend to stay on the other boards, and some huge registry collections are not accounted for.... can you say "Museum of Sports History"
I'm still a bit surprised at how low the total is up to this point.... I would have bet the farm that the count was going to hit close to 20% within a couple of days. I do, however think that many collectors just scan the boards or lurk in the background and don't post ... for a variety of reasons. I also think that many board members may only stop by every month or so.... just to see whats up, and look for cards they need. The boards can get tiresome at times and I can see how someone that has been collecting for years and years could slow down on their board visits.
I have to believe that most collectors that are savy enough to be collecting large stockpiles of PSA cards, and have also submitted some raw cards themselves... would have stumbled across the boards at one point or another.... so I find it hard to believe that 95% of PSA cards are held by casual collectors that don't have the where-with-all to log on and check out PSA's site.
As for PSA's courting new card collectors more so than vintage set collectors... I wouldn't blame them if they did... but I think they'd agree that the Vintage collectors stay in the hobby a lot longer, are a lot more loyal to PSA, and are the best mouthpieces for spreading the word about PSA. We are probably also the biggest complainers.... but even the most heated debates are usually in the best interest of the hobby. We all seem to have the same long term goal.... to see the hobby grow and flourish.
I wish this thread would have started under different circumstances, as I think it would be interesting to see what the real result's could have been. But if nothing else, at least we all learned what our Cool Biker names are. Ride on..... Hungry Horses!!
I thought it was the funniest thread(along with the 1/2 point reviz thread) in a long, long time personally. it took on it's own life for a while there and was interesting, it had it all: humor, inuendo, flames, bragging, bashing, ass-kissing, you name it.
This thread is on the Set Registry forum. Most of the modern collectors on the PSA boards don't frequent this particular forum (probably because most modern collectors are grading rookies, certain serial #ed, game-used, or autographed cards, or a few superstars, but certainly not sets). I have a feeling that if this thread were on the Sports Cards and Memorabilia forum, that it would have attracted more posters due to greater visibility. Also, let's not forget that some of the posters have lives and don't check the boards every day. BTW, add another 4 to my total.
By the way it is not intended to be a knock on Joe or psa to keep this post alive i would truely love to see how many cards the board members can acount for. well add another 25 to my total skins total now at 50

OK, maybe there were no silly crowns or Xographs
Actually, I think Iron Horse (MW) was wearing his crown while he was reading it.

BTW, add another 4 to my total.
