My letter to CDN

Sirs:
I have been a subscriber for many many years. Your prices have generally reflected a "real market" wholesale level in my experience. However, in the past year to two years, the prices reflected in CDN have not been any indication of real market pricing at any wholesale level with which I am familiar.
The general public may be selling to dealers at your prices or below, but knowledgeable dealers are selling (yes, SELLING) coins to other knowledgeable dealers at prices far above your sheet prices. From my observation lately, it seems to be about one grade designation off in most cases.
I would like to see CDN attempt to find closer market price sources for the actual sales that are taking place. I do not know what your sources are, but other than the very commonest coins such as proof sets and bulk common coins, your sources seem to be lacking a connection with the coin market.
I am sure it is a job to keep up, but the derision of the formerly respected CDN on collector and dealer forums and trading sites is making CDN a less than worthwhile indicator to use when buying or selling coins.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope the issue can be resolved to again bring CDN on board as my primary source of current wholesale pricing.
Sincerely,

Millions on WELFARE depend on you!
I subscribed to them for 1 year but didn't renew. They don't have many prices above the MS65 mark for many series.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Yes, the Gray Sheet has bee too low of late, but maybe they believe that a correction will be in the offing. I'll tell you that the Gray Sheet NEVER likes to report bad news like major price decreases. The biggest fault of the publication is that it is often too much of a cheer leader for the coin market. If they report that some part of the market is "quiet" or "slow" you know that it really stinks.
